Any investment in a business requires a financial analysis. In fact, an investment is nothing but a temporary expense that will have to be recouped in the future. Now of course there are some standard things you will invest in as a business owner, such as well-functioning IT, decent housing and the necessary office supplies. After all, without these things, working becomes a bit difficult.

But once the basic necessities are taken care of, it is time to pay attention to slightly less obvious sources of potential income. Not every investment will be immediately convertible into cash, but this in fact says little about its usefulness. For example, have you thought about office plants? Perhaps at first plants may seem like an unnecessary addition to your office. However, nothing could be further from the truth. Office plants add significant value in several ways. We go over a few of them.

Plants in the office have several properties that contribute to an overall sense of health. For example, they have the extremely fine property of purifying the air of the room in which they are placed. This is especially welcome in an office, as there are often various devices in an office that pollute the air with toxins such as carbon dioxide. Also, air quickly becomes stale from exhaled air and perspiration if you spend a long time with several people in a small space. However, plants convert toxins such as carbon dioxide into oxygen, which in turn allows us to breathe more freely.

In addition, humidity also plays a role. Buildings today are very well insulated. Combined with central heating, this often results in dry and unrefreshed air. Dry air can lead, among other things, to dry or even painful eyes, drying mucous membranes and, in severe cases, labored breathing. Plants in the office help increase humidity in rooms because most of the water given to plants evaporates. This keeps our skin from drying out and also prevents the aforementioned ailments.

Many scientific studies have now proven that nature has a highly therapeutic effect on humans. A walk through a beautiful forest area calms the nerves, reduces stress and provides a general sense of well-being. Now, an office with a few plants may not be entirely comparable to a forest, but still, its positive effects should definitely not be underestimated. A few green accents in an otherwise drab and bleak environment can make a world of difference. Employees feel comfortable and at ease in a green working environment. In addition, office plants promote creativity. They also create calm, making it easier to release any work pressure.

In addition to health benefits, plants are also beautiful in their own right. They adorn any room in which they are placed. Do you feel that something is missing from your (office) interior? Then chances are that a few office plants can instantly change this. This way, you will not only make your employees happy, but also potential customers. After all, a beautiful and warm welcome awaits them.

In short, plants have many wonderful properties that will contribute positively to your office space in both the short and long term. In addition, office plants are not expensive at all, so it almost seems strange not to invest in these natural brighteners!

A healthy work environment
