It is well known that plants have a very positive influence on people’s stress levels and general mood. For this reason, the workplace is the perfect place to brighten up with some greenery! Want to take full advantage? Then a plant wall or forest wall is the perfect investment for the office!
More green = happier employees
A lot of research has been done on the effect of plants on our well-being, and most agree unanimously: a few plants in a room reduce stress and therefore make for more creative, productive and happy employees. And that with just one plant on your desk. Just imagine then what wonders a wall full of greenery can do!

Advantages plant wall or moss wall
More greenery in the office not only gives a calming feeling, but also brings other benefits: such a wall has a soundproofing effect, so it can certainly serve its purpose well in a room with a lot of echo. For this reason, you can also place a moss wall between two desks or different departments and use it as a “partition wall.”
These partitions are also easily movable and thus much more mobile compared to ordinary partitions. Last but not least, such a wall or partition is very impressive and a real eye-catcher for visitors or passers-by.
Plant wall: the possibilities
- First of all, it is important to determine the location of the plant wall. This is because plants need enough light to survive, so it’s best to place them where there is a lot of natural light coming in.
- Then you will have to choose between two types of substrates: classic cultivation on plant substrate or hydroponics.
- In conventional cultivation, the plants are placed in a waterproof frame with potting soil, compost or another type of plant substrate so that they receive the necessary nutrients and only need to be watered on a regular basis.
- With hydroponics, a nutrient-free substrate is used as a substrate such as peat moss, rockwool etc and you will have to provide regular nutrient solution to the plants yourself. In an indoor space, hydroponics is highly recommended.

Plant wall: the maintenance
Plants are living organisms, so it makes sense that they need to be cared for from time to time. In the first year, a plant wall requires extra maintenance because you will regularly have to replace plants that do not thrive in the space where you placed them. Unfortunately, this does happen frequently and has nothing to do with how well you take care of them and how much love you give them. Once the plants are mature, you can take care of them in a normal way.
