Working with plants in your environment has been shown, according to research, to
increase productivity and reduce stress. So plants have a beneficial effect
on our mental well-being and especially when we work, this comes in handy.
In addition, it cleans the space through air filtration.

It is therefore a very good thing to fill workspaces such as coworking spaces
with lots of greenery. Because as you can read: there are plenty of arguments
to brighten up that space with all kinds of plants. But which plants
are best for such a coworking space?

Why plants in a workspace?

As mentioned above, plants in an office have a tremendously positive
effect on employee well-being
. It increases productivity, provides
more focus and reduces the amount of stress. Moreover, people’s
immune system is also said to benefit from more plants in the
workspace
. And admit it, it also just looks nice and hip. So what
are you waiting for?

Which plants are suitable for coworking spaces?

The bigger the plant, the bigger the effect? Wrong! The size of plant is
absolutely irrelevant. A giant tree in the middle of your
coworking space will not create more or less productivity than a few small
plants here and there
. So it comes down to integrating plants creatively into the interior. If plant maintenance puts you off, better go
for plants that don’t require much attention (read: water and care)
and can survive perfectly in almost any location.

Plants for dark spaces

Most plants cannot survive without a lot of light. Fortunately
there are also plants that do thrive in dark corners
.
So you don’t have to stuff every spot with lots of light with plants.
Below is a list of plants that do appreciate shade:

  • The Dragon Blood Tree: Direct sunlight can damage this plant even
    .
  • The Grass Lily: A plant that quickly adapts to any
    environment.
  • Philodendron: This plant also prefers to dwell in dark rooms.
  • The spoon plant: In addition to sun, this plant does not need much water
    .

Plants without too much thirst

No desire or time to take care of all the plants in your coworking space?
Some plants make peace with that, so you shouldn’t water them every day or even
every week.
For a lot of plants, once or twice a
month is sufficient. An overview:

  • Pothos: This plant only needs watering twice a month.
  • The spoon plant: As mentioned before, it can survive in the shade as well as
without too much water. Moreover, the plant lets you know when it needs
water. The plant will droop when in need of water. But
don’t panic: when you water it, it blooms again immediately.
  • Aglonema: This plant can easily survive in many different types of
climates and weather conditions, so it doesn’t demand much from you. You can make it
already happy with a little lukewarm water.
  • Cycas: The roots of the Cycas are very sensitive to too much water
which makes it fairly easy to take care of. Almost no watering
    is the message!
