Dethier

Dethier’s central hall is a real eye-catcher – an impressive fusion of branding, architecture and nature.

In the summer of 2022, Dethier, a family-owned construction company, moved into their brand new headquarters in Alken.

The state-of-the-art building is constructed according to a Brutalism architecture, with a prominent role for concrete, brick, (walnut) wood and natural stone – materials that reflect the company’s craftsmanship, tradition and sense of quality.

The design follows a biophilic approach, aiming to bring employees closer to nature. Large windows involve outdoor patios in the interior, and underground parking keeps the streetscape car-free.

Inside, we placed thirteen plants, including an imposing Ficus Lyrata more than 4.5 meters tall. To match the pure, natural look of the building, we chose handmade pots from Atelier Vierkant – made from natural clay and designed in Belgium.

Today, the building provides a warm and inspiring work environment for Dethier’s team.
